The ASUS STRIX line is specifically dedicated to all those players that rely on quality products, but that do not require all of the additional features of enthusiast level typical of ROG world.

For a complete range of headsets, mice, keyboards, graphics cards and sound cards designed to ensure a perfect gaming experience, has also recently added a new mainboard that, as is clear from the name itself, is to act as a “trait d ‘ union “between the two brands by deploying advanced solutions and a very aggressive look.

The ASUS ROG X99 GAMING STRIX, hero of our today’s review, aims to satisfy the most demanding gamer with regard to functionality by offering, at the same time, overclocked performance since before the class in conjunction with the more powerful Intel processors in consumer (Broadwell-E ) and providing support for multi-GPU configurations up to three cards in both NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX.

In detail we have a Digi + III circuit to 8 stages which feeds the socket in the OC version (with the additional pin), two EPS connectors (8 and 4 pin), eight DDR4 DIMM slots for a total of 128GB DDR4 memory with a maximum frequency of 3333MHz (OC), three PCI-E 3.0 x16 (x8 / x16 / x8), two PCI-E 2.0 x1, a PCI-E 2.0 x16, an M.2 connector, a U.2 port, a SATA Express and ten SATA III.

The network connection can count on the presence of an Ethernet port Intel I218-V which uses utility ASUS GamerFirst IV able to optimize network traffic by reducing the latency in game sessions, while as regards the wirelessly we available 802.11 an AC module with MU-MIMO technology and a Bluetooth 4.1 module.

The audio sector can rely on proven ASUS SupremeFX technology that ensures a signal / noise ratio of 115dB, an extreme reduction of electromagnetic interference thanks to a special screening and the adoption of excellent quality components that surround the integrated chip Realtek ALC1150.

Last, but not least, we find a USB 3.1 Type-A and a Type-C which, coupled with the recent U.2 interface, constitute the main changes compared to the amount of the previous X99 mainboard.

The STRIX ROG X99, following the current panorame gaming trends, has been equipped with an advanced RGB LED lighting system called AURA and implemented, for the first time, also in three retention clips of the PCIe x16 slot.

For those who want to extend that light to other areas of its configuration in a 4-pin header it was predisposed to connect any LED strip available separately.

Furthermore, as visible at the top, bundled are three pairs of inserts stickers of different colors that are additional to those of orange color, so as to obtain an even higher degree of customization
