GoPro just introduced its latest sports camera, Hero 4 Session, that stands heavily on the classic design of previous models with a more compact appearance and it gets rid of the LCD screen, but keeping most features.
A GoPro you are leaving a lot of competitors who present themselves as more affordable alternatives and slightly lower quality, which attract many consumers. This is the case of eg Xiaomi Yi, the Energy Sistem SJCam or lesser extent and Mobius.
GoPro follows his own emphasis on medium and high-end products with this Hero 4 Session, offering WiFi and Bluetooth, both for bulk data connectivity, while has a microUSB port for charging.
The new model has a completely square and black color design, unlike the previous ones. Has very small dimensions and weight thus also lower by, which is one of the factors we have to consider when we take a camera to play sports.
It is waterproof and comes with a 1030 mAh battery, which seems to be one of the aspects that have been cut for a smaller size. It has an easy control by a button and is capable of recording 1080p video at 60 fps, while making 8 MP photos.
As mentioned, it does not have the LCD screen but it has a small display in black and white.
On the audio side, although not a critical aspect of these products, has two microphones, one in front and one behind, and say it is now able to get more quality in adverse conditions.
The Hero 4 Session come in two versions (standard and surfing) that differ only in the accessories included, the latter including a support for the surfboard and FCS.
At the moment no specific dates are known, but we know that this GoPro Hero 4 Session arrive sometime this month and will be available at a price of 429 euros, an aspect in which they have not cut itself.
