In addition to the HP 7 G2 comes in 8-inch range, a new entry-level tablet of U.S. manufacturer Hewlett-Packard, with which the range is rounded down. The HP 8 G2 is based on the same platform around a AllWinner A33 Quad Core ARM SoC 1.2 GHz and will probably cost around 180 euros. We have all the data and some images, even if the device has not yet been officially announced for you.
The HP 8 G2 has a 7.85-inch IPS display in 4: 3 format, which dissolves with 1024 × 768 pixels. Inside potters as mentioned a AllWinner-SoC, which attracted attention mainly because made in his introduction that he is selling for only about four dollars to the manufacturer. The ultra low-cost chip AllWinner is here fitted together with a gigabyte of RAM and 16 GB flash memory that can be expanded using MicroSD card. As with the small 7-inch model there is one VGA cam on the front and a 2-megapixel camera on the back.
The HP 8 G2 N-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 is offered on a 3G or even 4G modem so you have to do without. The unit has a 15-watt-hour battery that will provide around 7 hours of run time. The whole thing is in a silver colored casing which brings 372 grams on the scale and is built relatively thin at 8.2 millimeters. Also in this case we do not yet know when the HP 8 G2 comes on the market, because the official announcement is still pending. What is certain is that this Android 4.4.2 “KitKat” is in use, which seems to have been little changed as usual at HP – apart from the in-house photo and Printing Apps.
