HTC has unveiled that night during an event in New York, Desire EYE. The smartphone has a layout with which it can be classified in the current premium class, it is but to stand out from the competition primarily by a 13-megapixel front camera with dual-LED flash. The apparently at smartphone users so popular “Selfies” should succeed so well with this camera.
Unlike the case for this in the spring of this year One M8 HTC Desire is the EYE on a housing plastic construction. This contributes however to the fact that the instrument has received IPX7 certification after it is waterproof. The IPS display measures 5.2 inches in the the diagonal and dissolves with 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Is driven by the Desire EYE Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon processor 801 which expects a clock frequency of up to 2.3 GHz and can draw on 2 gigabytes of RAM. In addition are joined by 16 gigabytes of flash memory that can be expanded via microSD card, and a 2400 mAh battery.
In addition to the imposing front camera, Desire EYE on the back is also equipped with a 13 megapixel camera sensor including dual-LED flash. On the housing front to sit below the display two boom sound speakers. For the use of the device in mobile networks a nano-SIM card is required.
To get out of the two high-resolution cameras of smartphones as much as possible, the Desire Eye comes including a special camera software. This provides, among other features like “Face tracking” or “screen sharing” and the ability to trigger certain functions with gestures or voice commands. The operating system running on the device at the factory Android 4.4 “KitKat” including the manufacturer’s own Sense interface (version 6).
HTC’s new smartphone brings 154 grams on the scale and has dimensions of 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 millimeters. In mobile networks, the device transmits both 3G and LTE speed. Furthermore, the standards NFC, DLNA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0 are supported.
HTC Desire will bring the EYE in the coming weeks in the colors “coral reef” and “blue lagoon” on the European market. In the German specialist trade Selfie the smartphone will be available from early November for a suggested retail price of 530 euros.
