The summer is usually a fairly quiet time in which to launch new phones are concerned, but this year marks are giving us more work than usual. On Tuesday three new Motorola arrived and expected OnePlus 2 teams, and there are several releases planned for the coming weeks. But we will now focus on the Meizu M2, the new proposal ahead of the mid-range coming from China with a technical profile as complete at a very competitive price. We see all the details of Meizu M2.
Display and Design
The Meizu M2 has a laminated IPS screen 5 inches diagonally. HD resolution achieves a density of 293 dots per inch and offers a 1000: 1 with a maximum brightness of 400 nits, so that it looks good under the sun. The panel is protected by a sheet of glass resistant Dragon Trail signature.
Meizu has chosen a polycarbonate unibody design (a type of very resistant plastic), rounded corners and edges. The back sufficiently close to the iPhone 5C and some Lumia, especially versions of blue and pink though it is also available in white and gray. The screen is quite snug against the edges and has a thickness of 8.7 mm, weighing 131 grams.
Camera and Multimedia
The Meizu M2 mounted a rear camera with Samsung CMOS sensor of 13 megapixels, ready to take pictures in low light and covered by a five-element lens with f / 2.2. It also has a dual band WiFi port (2.4 / 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, low power consumption, with support Glonass GPS antenna, headphone minijack and MicroUSB.
The battery has a capacity of 2,500 milliamps and official data show that offers an autonomy of 680 hours in standby mode and 23 hours in conversation. It may be 10 hours without going through the plug if we are sailing through 4G networks and the duration will be extended to 12 hours if you use WiFi networks. It also offers 10 hours of HD720p video playback and up to 45 hours of uninterrupted music.
Availability and opinions
If the Meizu M2 we already looked like an interesting smartphone, its price merely reaffirm one of the mid-range mobile year. Meizu splash out the window and offers the new M2 for a price change of about 90 euros, but its benefits are competing at a higher level, where we find new phones like the Motorola Moto G 2015, one of the models expected this year, which costs 200 euros.
