After the formality of Alpha Galaxy of which we have spoken here, Samsung has also officially the processor that will be present on your smartphone, the Exynos 5430.
The unit has 8 cores, of which four Cortex-A15 with frequency 1.8 Ghz and the other four Cortex-A7 with frequency 1.3 Ghz, all accompanied by a Mali GPU T628MP6. But this chip has a special feature: it is the first in the family Exynos to be created with a 20nm manufacturing process. This peculiarity according to Samsung should be to reduce the energy consumption up to 25% compared to the other chip with a 28nm manufacturing process, without compromising performance.
Another characteristic of the new Exynos is the support of the technology big.LITTLE HMP which consists in the possibility of keeping active all eight cores simultaneously or deactivate them when necessary. In addition, the chip supports resolutions WQHD (2560 × 1440) and WQXGA (2560 × 1600) but will not be used on Alpha Galaxy which should have a screen resolution of 1280 × 720.
Probably a chip of the same family, the Exynos 5433, will be used on the 4 notes, but almost certainly the 5430 will be implemented on all devices of the Korean house that lie immediately under the higher-end handsets.
