So far, the matter Nextbit had been surrounded by an aura of mystery. We knew that it was a startup founded by ex-Google bigwigs and populated by equally illustrious names in the landscape of consumer technology today, with executives from HTC, Dropbox, Amazon, and even Apple. Just a couple of months ago it was announced a partnership with Cyanogen Inc., which talked about a new product or software service “really cool.”
Today, the startup has explained what it is, and it is a feature that is missing from too much time on Android Baton, a super simple and completely transparent to manage the app in a natural way and without any interruption. The system is based on three key features: there will be a real-time synchronization of the app and its data, so that our user experience will be consistent across all of our devices. Not only that you can instantly send their current state from one device to another. The promotional video below explains the concept well: you start a drawing from within an app on a device, it “passes” through Baton to another device, and you can continue the pattern exactly at the point where it was interrupted. Even still selected the same instrument, the same color, and so on.
