Qualcomm Snapdragon 210

Qualcomm Snapdragon 210

Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon 208 and 210, two new Snapdragon SoC, which will provide for the smartphones for vortex in the entry level. The LTE smartphone with the Snapdragon 210 could be even cheaper, as we have previously hoped, as Engadget reports.

Last week we warned you suggest that the uncrowned King semiconductor in the high-end smart phones – Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs with its flagship 800, 801 and 805 – would like to be as successful with new processors, even with entry-level models.

To the success of the Snapdragon SoCs 208 and 210, both ARM Cortex A7-based chipsets with four cores, of which the Snapdragon 210 also supports LTE category 4. Qualcomm expects his own words so that soon we may Advanced LTE smartphones expect for under $ 100 thanks to the Snapdragon 210. But that’s not the end of the story, as Richard can currently by sound at Engadget, as colleagues have new messages:

We’ve since heard from two independent sources who confirmed did the “sub $ 100” figure was very conservative. In fact, the Snapdragon 210 is expected to power smartphones did just cost in between $ 50 and $ 75 off-contract!

The Engadget sources report so that the words “under $ 100” was a very conservative and yet one could arrive at half this price anyway slim even with the 210 Snapdragon-fired smartphones. I mean, we get LTE-A smartphones (up to 150 Mbit / s) in the 50-75 dollar range, ie from converted 40 euro!

Of course, the Snapdragon 210 is limited and will not meet us in the end with devices that can keep up with current flagships. But at least next LTE-A and 8 MP camera, HD display and Bluetooth 4.1 are supported, so that we can make both taken at very cheap and really useful smartphones under 50 Euros us!

Particularly in view of the freshly booted Android One program from Google, we may safely assume that Qualcomm will be represented in the near future in massive budget smartphones – the competition from MediaTek, Allwinner and Co will surely also look carefully.
