In NVIDIA toil hard to bridge the gap between mobile and desktop hardware. Each year, the company is getting closer to achieving this cherished goal, and here at CES 2015 will be presented a new superchip – Tegra X1.
Tegra X1 consists of a 256-core graphics engine Maxwell and 64-bit 8-core processor. In addition, the chip has support for 4K resolution playback at 60 frames per second. We should also mention that Tegra X1 is not only very powerful, but remains with the energy-efficient hardware.
It is unlikely that we will see new hardware from NVIDIA in smartphones, but tablets and dashboards on Tegra X1 may appear later this year.
